Guest Richard Gallatin
The Lancia Flaminia Loraymo Coupe is one of Loewy’s most bizarre designs. Only 2 years separate it from the radically different Avanti. View the Lancia Loraymo and scale model plus “Loewy’s Latest” an article from the January 1961 edition of Mechanix Illustrated. John_S_in_Penna
This was discussed at length earlier this year on a different thread here, Mr. Gallatin. That thread you began was interesting. Yes, that Loraymo is distinctive; and some would say ugly. Do the designers get so attached to their work that they can't see that something isn't right?! padgett
Can see a lot of Avanti in the rear. Nose is "unfortunate" but common in period (Spohn, Daimler SP250, Packard Hawk)
Rusty_OToole
Loewy did several cars for himself over the years, all ugly. The designs he did for paying customers were much better looking because they were done by other designers.
