56 Clipper front end rebuild & PS swap

Who can recommend the best parts/supplier and value for the front end parts I need to rebuild the front suspension on my 56 Clipper. I could also use some tips on the procedure like what to do about the torsion bars etc. Also, I am considering putting the power steering system from my 56 Patrician parts car on my Clipper; will it fit? Are the tie rods the same? Do I need to change the steering boxes?

Dave:
Here's a way to trap the front torsion bar lever arm (without the special tool) so you can disassemble the front end:
http://www.1956Packardpanther.com/SecuringFrontLoadArmWithChainLowerView.jpg
http://www.1956Packardpanther.com/SecuringFrontLoadArmWithChainUpperView.jpg
See April 5, 2001 text for details:
http://www.1956Packardpanther.com/index-page17.html
Does your Clipper have standard steering? If so, I'll trade you the power setup off my 1956 Clipper/Panther since I'd rather have standard steering (for a cleaner look, not bigger arm muscles). The 1956 Patrician setup is different, but would probably fit with some effort.
Supplier: I got all my front end O'haul parts from Kanter. Expensive, but they fit. I've heard that there's an Xref in TRW for the inner bushings, but haven't found a reliable number yet.
[ 08-08-2002: Message edited by: Craig LV ]

Craig:
I will keep that offer in mind on the steering swap. I haven't totally decided not to keep the standard steering on my Clipper or not. I have a 56 Patrician parts car that I am taking the power steering off of so I do already have the parts so that was why I was wondering if it would all fit. I suppose it does but I am not sure.
Dave

BE SURE to visit Craigs web site. It is EXCELLENT! It has some tech info that will probably answer alot of questions. OR, at least make u aware of many things. Especialy read the disk brake conversion article since it mentions something about senior steering knuckles being different from the Jr.
