Belongs to a ROA member in North Carolina. Nice looking car that appears to be an older restoration. The owner told me he put 97 Firebird front seats in it and had them recovered in a 63 Riviera seat cover pattern. Phone number is shown. I can offer a bit of history on the car … The engine was rebuilt 11 years ago, I was participating in the club a bit more back then, and because Jim had broken his heel I believe, the club members got together and installed it for him. He said it has around 11,000 miles since the rebuild. A little history on the reason for the seats. He converted it to a 700R4 transmission and there was a linkage clearance issue, so I believe he had to get narrower seats and run the shift linkage inside the car? As Mike said, it is a good looking, and rust free car. More info about the car can be found in the Riview. Jim did a Members Showcase that was published in Vol. 27 No. 1 on pages 16 & 17. The stock rear end coupled to the o/d transmission gives a final drive ratio of 2.15. If I remember correctly there was four of us trying to keep pace for two days covering almost 1,000 miles. THAT was an interesting trip to be sure! THAT was an interesting trip to be sure! Thanks for squaring that up. We had five in our convoy but for the most part we only "convoyed" from my place to Eureka Springs. Chris Wolfe drove to my place from Denver, his passenger was Odin Lowe from Norway. Crhris and Janette Knowles drove to my place from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. From my place we drove south and picked up Rich and Pam Pirch just south of Kansas City, then Galen and Donna Shields joined us another 80 miles south in Pittsburg, KS. We basically only were together as a group for a little over 120 miles out of the 250 miles from my pkace to the hotel A '63, a '65 GS, a '79 T-type, an '84 convertible, and a '98. Linda and I drove with another couple from KC to Lexington. We were in Linda's 93, the other couple were in a 65 GS. That was a real experience. They had to stop for gas twice as often, and they werent too sure of their car running over 65 mph. Luckily that wasn't too far. We split up on the wwy home and took the scenic southern route. Regal Black was not offered on the 1969 Riviera. I have been told by some people that it was offered late during the model run but I am not 100% sure. Maybe a member has a dealer bulletin to support this? Of course a special order color could be had and the data plate should be able to verify if it was a special order color. It would be special ordered if factory black, yet would still have the code of A for regal black. The same is true in 71 and my factory black 71 has the code for Regal Black. This car was advertised by someone else approximately 5 years ago when I was living in NC. It had 7,000 miles on it then. As I said earlier, this car was for sale in NC approximately 5 or so years ago with half the mileage.
