Interesting - I guess one would need to adapt a rubber hose filler neck or unsolder an old one and solder into this one. I'd like to see the bottom. And yea Paul, most of them out there are dented just behind the bumper

But, it has the elusive 300 hp 445.

No Mike, I'm not?

I have been doing the "Rivieras at the Park" here in NC since 2004 and this '63 has never attended.

I looked at a few rosters from over the years and did not find an owner from that area with a '63 either? Possibly someone that has never heard of or been a member of the ROA?

Light Rosewood Metallic with silver Designer's Accent paint treatment and rosewood leather bucket seats (I believe they're the 16-way Power Comfort seats).

I think changing the tires would be on the top of the list of maintenance items, if they are 1985 dated. There's no mention of any documentation that can authenticate the 900+ mileage claim. The underside sure looks clean, though!

I will freely admit that I love the color—I just would prefer it on a T Type. Agreed on the tires, but at least these Rivieras have good choices in replacements (Corvettes of the same year are hosed).

Hi all. New to this forum, but not new to collecting Buicks. I am interested in buying a 1965 Riviera Gran Sport on Hemmings.com Ad # 2292832.

I have spoken with the owner and he has sent additional pictures. The car is located in California.

I am waiting for Monday to see if the Carbs are the correct #'s and also the #'s for the distributor. It does bave the BS trans. Supposed to be numbers matching Motor, etc.

The owners name is Jesse Horn and he says his partner in the car is Tim Sweely who is supposed to be well known in the Riviera world as he is a large  manufacturer /supplier for 1963-1965 Riviera parts.

Both are members of the ROA. I was wondering if anyone knows about this car or has any opinions on the car and owners.

I have spoken to a couple of friends including Ken Lisk who owns a '65 Non GS with dual carbs from the factory.

They are the ones who gave me the Carb and Distributor #'s and also a link to the discussion on his car here.

I am a long time GSCA, BCA, and AACA member with Senior and Grand National Award cars. One was also nominated last year for a National Award.

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated, because I really would like to try to purchase this car.

I did email Tom Mooney who was reccomended to me by Ken L., but I have not recieved a reply yet.

Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

P.S. Just want to say thank you to Tom Mooney for getting back to me right after my previous post. Just ended a nice detailed phone conversation with him. I received a lot of information, that really helped a Riviera novice like me. I learned a lot about the Gran Sport to go forward with in my persuit for one of these cars, if not this one then something else in the future. Thanks again Tom, it was a pleasure to talk to you.

I went to Orlando with serious interest in this car over a year ago.

It smelled musty, had a cheap re-paint and the engine bay has been completely ignored. One of the dealers presented an arrogance that made me walk away.

The wear on the dash parts and engine bay told me a rolled odometer.

Nice car but not worth anywhere near the price IMO

And there she sits still....

On Hemmings, a Red Firemist 1985 Riviera with red leather 45/55 seats and 8,000 miles, asking $19,500.

image.thumb.png.d26fb2eb229d562a04e545efffbcd4a2.png

Unusual, I think, to see a Red Firemist sixth-generation Riviera that isn't a convertible. The lack of a vinyl roof with this color in a non-T Type also stands out.

When was the last time you saw one of these with the standard wheel covers?

:)

I had to look it up on the ROA site. Seems like one of those standard inclusions where almost everybody bought an optional choice—another example would be the cloth split bench seat on the early eighth-generation cars.

Definitely an interestingly configured vehicle: extra cost paint and extra cost seats, but no optional wheel covers, no Landau, no Astroroof, etc.

$40k was put into this restoration, $12k alone in the engine! Power windows, steering, disc brakes, tilt wheel and much more! Built engine and sounds awesome with flowmasters...serious 450hp and 500lbs tq ...gorgeous expensive interior and stereo, 20" chrome wheels with new tires, etc. Underside is incredible as you can see! This car came out of Texas 12 years ago and NEVER HAD RUST OR ROT! Built 8 years ago...The car runs and drives perfectly and it is fast for real! A/c needs charge, one rear window is slow, rear bumper has slight push in it and I have another one that goes with it... and everything else works! Copy and paste video here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXnfPUF0rBg....Call me between 9am-9pm only please at 631-357-260 last number is on the next line...

****1964 Riviera wanted ****  I've been looking a couple of years for a nice '64 Riviera .... Prefer Sunburst Yellow ...... .Grenada Red or Claret Mist could work......  Prefer Black or White interior, ..... Saddle could work ....... Open to the different stock wheels and interior grades .....  No projects, no customs .  I've looked at and passed on several and am still on the hunt. ..... It's out there somewhere.  ... The pic is from High School, 1971 with my 7 year old '64 Riv...... Thanks !
