1971 Riviera - $8500

https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/buick/riviera/2151265.html

Just out of lengthy indoor storage. Good "driver" quality. Transmission, brakes and 455 cubic inch engine are all in good shape. Older re-paint showing a few chips etc.

Five Origional Riviera wheels. Interior is optional rosewood color and in good usable conditon. Headliner is good with some loose seams.

Buick offered the Boat tailed Riviera for only three years. The 1971 with its louvered trunk seems to be the favorite.

Priced to sell !

Price: $8,500 firm

1973 buick riviera

condition: excellent
cylinders: 8 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 42000
paint color: green
size: full-size
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
type: coupe

1973 Buick Riviera, 42,000 original miles, original paint, pretty much all original parts except for tires. Never molested or torn apart. Missouri car, never seen salt or winter weather. Zero body or frame rust. 455, 4 barrel, turbo 400 trans, all numbers matching. Everything works, all power windows, lights, runs/drives great. Has a rare option removable mini waste container on passenger front floor area. Original spare never out of trunk, smells new inside. Original Buick floor mats and trunk mat. Paint not perfect, but very nice, one touch up from a scratch. Half vinyl top is decent, but I'd replace it to bring car to top level as well as detail under hood. Chrome on rear bumper is not perfect, though good for a driver/casual show car. These are going up in value and will continue to, check current real world prices and make me an offer. $17,500 obo. Email me your number and I'll call you. I do not respond to emails - thanks.

'66 MX code GS at Mecum, Monterey-2018.

https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-330827/1966-buick-riviera-gs/

WOW! Not because of the car, but because of the errors in the description.  In 1966, the MX code was used to designate a small block 340 or 350 engine. The ultra rare 2x4 Super Wildcat was coded MZ.  All other Rivieras were MW.  That's all the farther I read.   How many more errors are there?

Wonder if that is a Ford or Pontiac 428 it has?  :>)

There's a 64 Riviera on Bring a Trailer but I didn't post the link.  I didn't think anyone here would be interested in a Riviera powered by a 429 Cadillac.  Nice looking car, but .........

Great detective work CJP.

I’ll be watching close to see where this angel goes.

Looking at the ignition, air controls and completely worn out floor well side carpet one can assess she was long well driven.

White and no AC can be a hard sell sometimes.

I hope it sells high at Mecum

I see two four barrel carbs but no pictures of the MZ code.  Who's to say this isn't one of the first Gran Sports where the option was dealer installed?

That MZ has been around a for sale at different times over past several years.  It is a legit car. Doesn’t look like too much has changed on it.

I only saw the casting numbers. Lots of guys post casting numbers thinking that's an identifier.  Thanks for pointing it out.
