If you could get a look at the panel under the rear window, you could tell for sure.  It would be stamped to look like a vinyl pattern.  I think that the chome moldings along the sale panel and across the back are giveaways as well.

For sale, not mine but a friend's, and not listed anywhere.  We were talking today and he mentioned that he still has the complete set of ribbed rockers moldings from his 65 Gran Sport that were removed when he did some customizing.  He says they're in excellent shape. He's asking $600 for the set.  If you're interested, send me a PM and I'll get you in touch with him.  He's a long time ROA member and former Regional Coordinator.

Some of you might recognize the car.  Two tone with airbrushed moldings.

Hi ROA.  We have enjoyed seeing you all over the years when we were able to attend the ROA meets.  My dad is getting older, and has moved 35 miles away, so I didnt want him racking up the miles on the riv, and driving that distance without me around to help in case he had an issue with the car, so I got him a newer "toy" for nice days.  Unfortunately, we will have to sell the Riviera and send it on to the next steward of it.  I listed it here on the AACA site first.  If no one here wants it, Ill move onto Facebook marketplace, and finally to the Mecum auction this fall if needed.  I am willing to negotiate on the price to keep it in the Riviera family.  Its a great driver, with some good modifications, and I have all the original parts included as well.  Let me know!

I need to know where the engine heat shields go on a 1964 Buick Riviera with a 427. I know where the starter heat shield goes, but I've got another heat shield that I took off some years ago and can't remember where it goes it's a smaller one. Someone please tell me where it goes

Mallary, you have posted this in a Riviera's for sale forum, you should start your own post on the main Riviera forum page so it gets more attention.

Looks like a pretty nice straight car that was taken care of. Anytime the trunk lining survives that well with 113k most likely the car has had pretty good care. Has a 66 horn bar but the wheel itself looks like 67. Being a MD car one would want to be concerned about rust especially since its been painted but looking at prone areas in pics I don't see anything that jumps out at me as being a rust bucket. At 113k the engine is probably tired though if maintained could have good life left but its still going to need all the common maintenance to make it reliable. I always thought that color would go the best for someone living in south FL. Reminds me of the turquoise water down there.

I think it's likely an early '67 model year build (probably explains the '66 horn bar).  I noticed it also has the same argent front parking light bezels I have on my '67.  Most '67s have bright chrome in this area.

There’s a guy here in Ocala with an early ‘67 with a ‘66 horn bar.
Original?

Also he hasn’t run it in over a decade. He owns a collision shop and tons of fine antique cars just collecting dirt.

Im gonna try to get it one day!

It’s metallic red with white buckets.

Price dropped to $13,500. If rust free as stated the price is approaching a decent deal. I believe the miles could be original. The car will have a very late 66 build date/VIN noted by the black trunk lining which they started using the last month or 2 of production. Cool that it has the 3 stripe spare, buckets, cornering lamps, etc

1967 Buick Riviera

cylinders: 8 cylinders
fuel: gas
odometer: 83600
title status: clean
transmission: automatic

1967 Buick Riviera in original and well preserved condition. 430 V-8, Turbo 400 automatic. Runs, drives and stops very well. This Riviera came with the following factory options:

Power windows
Power seats
Power antenna
Factory A/C (not working, but all there)
Tilt wheel
Speed Alert
Power brakes with front discs
Power steering

All gauges, electronics and lights in working order except for the horn and the drivers side rear window. Hidden headlights activate and retract as they should.

New parts:
New timing chain and gear set
New high-volume oil pump
New shocks front and rear
New Cooper Cobra GT radials (less than 500 miles)

The 430 engine runs very well but could stand to be fine tuned. The engine shows excellent oil pressure and doesn’t leak or blow blue smoke.

The body is in great condition. Paint is original and showing its age. Very minimal surface rust throughout, mainly in the trunk. The glass and the chrome are in excellent condition. Comes with the original wheels, hubcaps and whitewalls if you prefer the stock look.

This Riviera runs and drives exceptionally well and is a joy to drive. It’s a time capsule that you can drive on a regular basis and take to car shows. It keeps up with modern traffic just fine and gets decent gas mileage if you keep your foot out of it. Collector WA plates, no tabs ever again! $10,500

Another 66/67 front bumper that says "I've been towed with an old time sling tow truck".  I'd like to think that if Buick engineers had thought about it, they would have reinforced the front bumpers to withstand being towed in the days before roll-backs were around. No way these beautiful but flimsy bumpers could hold the weight if the heavy front end.

The first generation Toronado's, particularly the 66-67, fared even worse.
