1968 in Independence, MO The guy says he's selling because he's hard up for cash; might be willing to deal. ?????

https://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/d/1968-buick-riviera/6374961456.html

Needs center caps.  It appears that the side moldings are the self adhesive mylar chrome; easily removed.

Ed

And "new paint job and and glass windows"

Better not pull the optional mylar side moldings or the paint will come off just as the door jamb and trunk lid did.  LoL

Looks like rain - the Suzuki and house windows' got the tarps up.

https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/d/1965-buick-riviera-gs/6423352139.html

For Sale: 1965 Riviera. The car is a GS but the LX 425 and dual quads are long gone. I believe the transmission and rear end are original. It has a 1965 LT (401) engine currently. 53000 actual miles. Clear PA title in my name. The interior is mostly there but in poor condition. Body is fairly solid with no significant or structural rust other than the front of the hood. It ran when I parked it 5 years or so ago and the clamshells worked. I have owned it since 2005, but have not personally seen the car in a few years. The car is at a friend's shop in Freedom, PA just outside of Pittsburgh. I am near Altoona.

OK Riviera People: It's been a while since I pulled an engine out of a 65 Riv but I seem to remember that the engine might have to come out to really do a nice freeze plug job. Am I correct or has dementia set in?  Also....could the block be cracked???  DIAGNOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Mitch

I am not associated with this car.

This is not on CL but it is for sale near me (at the same dealership that is consigning my 1969 Chevrolet Caprice)

The guy listing this car is about as far off base in his description as one can get.  Leather?  Not in 65.  Standard interior, no power windows or seat, no a/c, BAD paint, poor choice of aftermarket wheels.  Looks to be asking over twice as much as you could comparably buy.   "Custom built" just like the other 34,000+ built in 65

Has all the good juju. GS, Coolest shifting console ever in a Riv, short skirts, 4 notes, rust free, great color combo and likely a negotiable price this time of year. I am glad its not close to me.

https://cedarrapids.craigslist.org/cto/d/1970-buick-riviera-gs/6440871855.html

Purchased car years ago as a future project that I will not get to. Kept in a building since I acquired it. Originally out of North Carolina. Rust free but will need restored. Runs but needs carb work and an exhaust. Just had fluids changed and fuel tank drained. Installed new in tank fuel pump and sending unit. Rare GS model with sought after short fender skirts and center council. Believe all to be original numbers matching.

You are right Jason! Buckets are VERY RARE in a '70, even a GS!

I too am VERY glad it isn't close to me. I need to thin the herd more than I need to be looking at any more.

Here's one I got in an email from BarnFinds.com, Craigslist Denver ...

1968 Buick Riviera - $14000 (South Loveland)

Buick Riviera, 1968, Known to be garaged since 1973, Absolutely no rust!, Looks great! Amazing condition! Re-sprayed original colour in 1972, Straight bumpers, excellent trim, excellent rubber seals. Red/Black/Black, only 89,000 miles, pampered, serviced, maintained. 430 CI/4-BBL/TH-400 Tranny, 3.07 gears, Tilt, Cold AC has been converted to R-134. New Radiator, hoses, belts, heater core & water valve. New Turn signal switch. 4-year old tires. New valve cover gaskets. Fresh tune-up w/ new plugs, rotor & Cap. Factory service manuals. Even the windshield washers work! Jump in, adjust the tilt steering wheel, set the original (working) deluxe pushbutton A.M. radio to your favorite oldies station and drive anywhere at any time. Speaking of time.....the clock doesn't work, but it "ticks" and starts to keep time. Price is firm and because there is no body or paint work or interior work to do, it is worth my super-low asking price. It is better than I can describe and the fotos do not do it justice.

I have been tracking this one for several weeks. I almost wish I had seen this one before I bought the Aqua Zephyr last year.

I like that the rear tail light bezels don't appear to have any major pitting. Rare for these cars, it seems.

While this is a very nice example for the money, I like your aqua car better. Bright red just doesn't work as well on the 2nd gen cars as it does on other generations but I know that's just a personal opinion. No matter what you have there's always going to be something come up for sale that you wish you had.

I agree with Jason's comments.

The angle of the trailing edge of the rear quarter panel seems to really make the deck look short; too short, I think.  That perception may be compounded by the vinyl top, which interrupts the 'flow' from the roofline to the tail...
