That's exactly what they were only NOT for the car.

Back in August it was almost 100 degrees so yes they kept ME cool while fiddling around in the garage! LOL

Maybe someone here can tell me for sure. My dad told me that the number of portholes was an indicator of engine size (cubic inches and/or hp) for a number of years.

I'm thinking that only in 53 and 54 did the 322's with standards have less horsepower JD. 55 and 56 all standard shifts had same I'm  pretty sure.

It seems thate xcept for the 54 Century the cars with the most powerful engine were 4-holers.

Now what I want to know is,  how did somebody get the November Bugle and as of today, 11/12/20,  I'm not able to see it electronically? .....

Taking a cue from you MrEarl and your painted tool box awhile ago I made the effort to paint one of my metal cabinets Buick green.

I cranked the heat up in the garage and brush painted it after a bit of thinner.

I'm happy with it for now.

Sorry to know he was seriously injured in a "Loaner" vehicle yesterday.

News stated he was running late for an appointment with Drew Breese-

hate to think he might have been driving too fast for conditions, leading to the single car wreck,

 and hope for a full and speedy recovery.

If this isn't a DOSE of Buick I don't know what is...

 

How does one change out the gas pedal rod to the rotating linkage once the ball breaks with no car lift?

 

Why jack one side up as high as one can, put clean cardboard on the floor and crawl underneath of course. (Naturally forgetting the correct size wrench one needs after contorting ones arm and hand for access...)

The dose part is getting dirt on your face and oily greasy hand and arms when reaching up in there.

For years I've tried to find a factory hp rating for the '56 Synchromesh engines.  All published data refers to the Dynaflow cars, with 220 in the 2bbl Specials and 255 in the rest.  SM Specials had lower compression and a different cam.  I'd guess they were about 200, but it's just a guess.
