bodayguy
So I bought a replacement ignition switch, which installs fine, except I see the chrome cover on the new switch is a lot smaller in diameter than the original style. It leaves a very noticeable gap on the dash. Pretty ugly. Seems I should be able to pry off the chrome cap on the switch and use the old one. But it doesn't want to come off easily and I don't watch to damage it. Any tips?
Mozzie
I bought one for my 64 Riviera just recently and noticed the exact same thing. Like you I also thought about prying off the original to replace the new one. I haven't done anything yet so I'm no help to you. Just thought you'd feel better knowing it's not just you. One thing I'd also like to know is if it's possible to match the new door locks I bought with the ignition. You can't buy all three with a matched key which is annoying. Any competent locksmith should be able to re-key all three cylinders to match.
