48762
OK, my first post. Does anyone have a current source for brushes for the 1925 Delco starter / generators? Or even someone who can sell me the material so I cam make my own? All comments are appreciated. Thanks Tom,

Rusty_OToole
Have you tried a local auto electric shop? They may not list them but if you take in the old ones they may be able to match them by size. Or find some slightly larger you can sand down. Guest John29Plymouth
I bought brushes for my 29 Plymouth from Special Interest Autos: jim@special-interest-autos.com http://www.special-interest-autos.com/ Phone/Fax: 1-800-634-2469
jbbuick22
Tom, If you make you own brushes it is important that the generator moving brush (carbon) is the correct length. The generator brush has to lift before the starter brush contacts the armature. Length of the brush and worn components in the lifting linkage can cause problems. 48762
Thanks to all so far. I have contacted Special Interest Auto, but no response back yet. Does anyone know where to buy brush material? It appears that there are two different materials here. One mostly carbon and another mostly copper. I would gladly make my own if I could just get the raw material. Thanks
cahartley
If it's a STARTER/generator the starter brushes NEED to be copper bearing material which is a dull gray in color. Don't ask me how I know.......
