Guest
I am aware of the H.C. Stutz Fire Engine Company, producing trucks from 1919 to 1926, I realize some still exist, and this Q is not about them.
But I have "heard" that in the last years of the original company, 1933-1936, some trucks were made by Stutz Motors. I realize that a few cars were made in 1934 and none in 1935 or 1936, while the company is technically not yet closed down until 1936. Any leads (URL?) on finding anything to verify Stutz trucks (even one?) post-1926 and not HCS related?
IndianaCarGuy
Stutz made a lot of delivery trucks and bodies after 1928, have seen a lot of them still in Indiana, and I think you could get more information from the museum at the Indianapolis Speedway in Speedway, Indiana.
I nearly bought a 1936 Stutz delivery truck that was owned by a telephone company in Greenfield, Indiana. Four cylinder engines, and apparently had a top speed of about 50 mph with a 2 speed box.
R. Swim
Guest
Harry Stutz had lost control of the Stutz Motor Car co. by this time but was active with a small step van called Pack-age-Car.
