My  Maxwell 09 can not get more grib in rear and low gear.

I want to change the bands ( kevlar?)

1. how do I do that. I think the engine has to be taken out.

2 .where can I get new bands ( kevlar?)

3. what thickness shall the band have?

1)  The transmission is integral with the engine and it must be removed and stripped to access the bands. This drawing might help:file:///C:/Users/David/Downloads/20131030105302450%20(1).pdf

2) These cars originally had segments of wooden blocks riveted to the bands and they work well.  I have no experience with Kevler but talking to others about its use generally as a friction material I have found differing opinions.  I would be using the wood if possible.  Someone was reproducing new curved oak blocks but I do not know the source.  Hopefully someone with respond here with a contact.  If you get no response I suggest you ask on the Maxwell Briscoe Discussion group site.  https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/maxwellbriscoeowners/files

3) The new reproduction wooden blocks come in segments and mine measure 0.276" thick,  I have a spare if you want to look at reproducing them.
