I am looking for a rebuilt Carburetor with body stamping 6-1008 for my 1956 Buick Roadmaster.  Looking for where to find one .

In 1956 Buick used two different makes of carburetors on the Roadmaster:

Rochester - identification tag 7009200

Carter - identification tag 2347s

The 6-1008 identifies the carburetor ONLY as a Carter and is a number for an unmachined "blank" casting used for internal (Carter) uses only. The castings could be, and generally were, machined for more than one application. Cannot be used for positive carburetor identification.

Jon.
