JohnD1956
These parts look great, but I have two questions. #1, should the bushings/spindles/balljoints/etc all be covered before sandblasting to prevent damage? If so, what does one use? #2, for the price, will you be installing new springs instead of re using some that may be very old?
sebastienbuick
Hello, I have to sand the whole but I will put the screws, ball joint and joint in new piece. I will remove the old ball joint with a press, and put new ball-joint with the same press. When everything will go up I would paint the sets of the pieces in black as original.I also protected the wheel axle to not paint it, it will just grease it. sebastienbuick
Hello to all, here is some news of this weekend.I took out the engine, the gearbox and the transmission shaft.I also remove the steering box to sanding and repainting, I also sand the hoses of the steering box and apply rustol.I then sandblade the box linkage and painted a color that brings it closer to the origin.Normally this weekend I clean the box so that it regains the color of aluminum and I would apply rustol for the finish. I would drain the box and I would change the joints too.

sebastienbuick
Yes thank you john and also this piece was for the next question. When I buy the buick, this piece was already broken, I would like to know if it was still possible to find? Or to make it with a 3D implements?thank you Edited May 30, 2017 by sebastienbuick (see edit history)
JohnD1956
Can a 3d printer print a hollow cavity? Probably have to print a front and back and bond them. But I fixed mine by using silicone glue and then making a "U" shaped bracket to hold it tight to the firewall. Wasn't pretty, bit it worked and most people would never question it.
