Then to replace the two plastic rings, I preferred to put a tube that I cut 4 times the size of a disc trimmer, to be sure that it does not move up and down

But for the other door, the original sticker is in too bad condition to be reassembled, so after having reproduced to the same dimension as the original on a computer, then print, then lay down to the original dimension (7cm x 3.5 cm)

Then set up

My neighbor is a bodybuilder painter and it is he who will paint the Buick for me when it is ready, and we have seen together what he wants me to advance him as work for which he has less to do at the end.
This is why I made this inner party. He is also the one who applied my varnish.
Now it will be up to the bodybuilder to continue these exterior doors, .... And so it's over for this side for me.
So we protect the whole and I continue with the rear wing

I love reading your posts and seeing the progress!  I'm also thrilled to see that the Buick is being restored to the original color (one of my favorites, by the way).  ;)

Thank you very much EmTee ;) , I try to be as close as possible to the origin, I also try to find the original stickers, ... so that it is as it left the factory in 1969  :)
Thank you, I really like this color too :)

It sure looks good when the color gets on.

Thank you GARY F ;)
I really like this color, the color manufacturers have managed to make me the same shade as the original (Trumpet Gold Poly) :)
We do not see very well in the photo, but the color is beautiful :)

I also like the color as well.  My grandfather bought a 1969 Wildcat brand new in that same color, therefore, it brings back a few memories for me.

Thanks!

A friend of mine's dad also had one for a company car in 1969-same gold color as my grandfather's, and also a four door hardtop.  About the only option my grandfather's car didn't have that my friend's dad had were power door locks.  His dad worked for GMAC, the credit arm of GM, which was a huge money maker at the time for the company, and was a real GM loyalist.  Inside his house were all Frigidaire appliances in lovely Coppertone, which was a GM division at the time.

this person was well placed ;)
I did not know that there were optional electric locks, I would like to know that for certain models there were air locks (by engine vacuum).
Last year I saw a nice GM fridge for sale, but someone already bought and reserved it :(

Too bad you missed out on that refrigerator.  The International dealer 135 miles south of here has two functioning I-H refrigerators in the lunchroom.

Yes, the door locks in that '69 Wildcat were electric solenoid.  They were LOUD, and worked with the engine off.  I have seen earlier cars with the vacuum door locks, including my '67 Thunderbird, and a '66 Oldsmobile with vacuum trunk release.  Once the vacuum was 'used up', after a only few uses, one had to start the engine again to evacuate air out of the reserve tank under the hood.

Yes it's a shame for this fridge, I arrived too late :(
Okay, I don't know it was already electric. A friend has an Eldorado 69 and he has the closing and opening of the doors and trunk pneumatic  (which works by vacuum of the engine), a very modern option for the time! :)
Even now in 2020 we don't have the option of opening the automatic trunk.
I saw on a video that there was this option (opening of the trunk by vacuum of the engine) on an Electra 69 too, I did not know that there was this option for my car too .

My 1990 Buick Riviera has the electric trunk release as well as the electric pull down, which, when you engage the trunk with the pull down, electronically does a soft close so you don't have to slam the trunk lid to seal it.

A I did not know, it was a beautiful Equipment ;)
Many cars in Europe are not equipped as much as these American cars ;)

The only car I can think of that may have exceeded them in the 1960's was the Mercedes Benz 600.

Other cars from Europe that came close were Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and most likely, the Zil and Chaika.

Yes it is true that the Mercedes and Rolls-Royce were well equipped, but it was luxury cars and there were not many cars in Europe with equipment like that :)

Even the lowest models being built in the US are now outfitted with gimmick devices.  The low priced Ford Escape SUV has a lift gate that can be activated "hands free" by passing your foot under a sensor.  I don't know how soon it will get here but fully autonomous cars will be everywhere.

Yes you are right, the cars are more and more equipped.
In France we have a low-end car brand (Dacia), they are not expensive, no equipment, ... but it was in the year 2005.
The Dacia of 2020 is starting to be equipped too, whereas normally they had to be very simple, without any option.

Hello everyone, the rest of the work with the rear wing.
So I continued sanding the rear wing and we can see the original color appear

I know that Mr Richard Petty had the number 43, here on the photo the nuemro 69 and for the year of the Buick :)
