Guest 1963starfire
I have a 1963 Oldsmobile Starfire. Can anyone tell me if the receiver dryer has one connection on the top and one connection bottom or both on one end? Everything I see for sale shows the connections both on the top. My car is out of town so I can't look at mine. Second question is the decal on the a/c compressor supposed to be yellow or orange? Mine is orange. When you put in my make and model in on different websites it calls for yellow. I don't believe yellow is correct. I'm thinking Cadillac and Oldsmobile used orange. I ordered an expansion valve off Rockauto. Would it come with the expansion valve screen? Didn't see a separate listing for it.

Guest 1963starfire
I don't have the a/c service manual. In your manual does it show both connections on one end or one connection on the top and one connection on the bottom?
GARY F
the dryer on my 63 bonne and my a/c book has both connections at the top ,directly across from each other.. Are you still using R-12 like I am? Edited June 17, 2016 by GARY F (see edit history)
rocketraider
My factory air 64 drier connections are at top as Gary has described. Its original compressor has an orange OK stamp along with black foil Frigidaire decal. Factory installed A/C is covered in the 1963 Chassis Service Manual if you have it.
