Curt Curtiss
I have a 1933 Auburn Salon with a Russ steering box, what modern lube should I use in it?
Curti
Penrite. Your steering column hanger grommet needs to be re-positioned.
Spinneyhill
It should be a semi-fluid grease. It needs to flow back after being wiped off the worm during a turn. Penrite make a "steering box lube" that is just that. Heat the bottle before attempting to put it in the steering box. Ross box, not Russ?

Ross box, not Russ? Awesome, thanks! I just rebuilt my box and picked up 2 bottles of the Penrite.
