jerry whitfield
hi I have 84 olds Calais 2 door coupe. Could someone help me or direct me to best place to get vin decode? Also I want to know if it can be verified by the vin # whether the car is a true hurst car? If vin does not identify a factory hurst car, how does one verify it? thankyou for your time and help, much appreciated. jerry W vin 1G3AK479XEM408872
Matt Harwood
Found this by doing nothing more difficult than clicking on the very first link on Google for the search term "1984 Oldsmobile VIN decoder." It seems that you do have a real Hurst/Olds. Year: 1984 Division: Oldsmobile Series: Cutlass Calais Body: Coupe (2 door) Engine: 307 (5.0) V8 4BBL Hurst/Olds Restraint Code: Non Passive/Active Corporation: General Motors Plant: Lansing, Michigan Serial Number: 408872

joe_padavano
The "9" in the eighth position of the VIN prices the car is a H/O. Only the H/Os for the VIN 9 motor that year.

rocketraider
The above decoder shows it to be a 1984 Hurst/Olds. Most of them had a dash plate inside showing the production number. Also visit classicoldsmobile.com and hurstolds.com for more info on your car.
