47windsor
I have a 1947 Windsor Coupe & I can't define if the rear shocks are worn out or it is the leaf springs. When I go over a bump or rough road it seems to be riding rough on the back of the car. the front goes over the bumps or rough road very smoothly. If I push down hard on the rear bumper it is very solid & no up & down movement, would this lead me to the springs? You certainly can't tell by looking at the spring? Is there a way to determine the condition without just replacing them? Bruce Watson
Joe Cocuzza
I am parting a 46 Chrysler if you need the springs. Joe
JFranklin
Maybe you could improve the ride by lubricating the springs.
Alex D.
Has the car always rode this harsh for you? Maybe overload springs have been added at some point. I have seen tis on cars that used to run shine. Try disconnecting the shocks and see if that helps. Possibly the wrong shocks have ben installed. Check for grease fittings on the rear shackles
