AussieQ
Hi Guys, I'm in Australia. I'm looking for a set of trim rings (I think they are sometimes called Glamour rings in the USA) to fit my 35 Dodge standard rims. They are 17 inch rims. If anyone has a set they want to part with I would love to hear from you. If not if anyone knows where I can purchase a set in the USA. I would like 5 if I can get them. countrytravler
KC is a truck series. Called different in AU?
AussieQ
Hi Dave, Yes, the KC is a truck series. What you call "Pickups" in the states, we commonly call "Utes" (short for Utilities). To further complicate things in the early days completed vehicles imported into Australia were heavily taxed. Most vehicles came into Australia as running chassis with front sheet metal only. The body from the windscreen back were then made by local coach builders to either the original manufacturers specification or in my case to a style that the coach builder specialised in. The vehicle I have was built by a company called Hope Body Works who amongst other designs also built what we call "roadster utes" with the rear tub section being made of wood or steel . The Roadster ute has a folding roof similar to a convertable. In my case the windscreen and body is very "Vintage Car" in construction with the body and door frames made of wood with outer skins of metal and also a wooden rear tub. The vehicles were typically used by farmers.

keiser31
Not called "Glamour rings" here, but are commonly referred to as "beauty rings". I know....I am picky. Edited April 18, 2016 by keiser31 (see edit history)

Desotodav
Gary, Hello from a fellow Aussie. I'm not sure whether you have found some trim rings yet as this is an old post... try Mitch (or Ben) from Antique Tyres in Victoria... http://www.antiquetyres.com.au/ ... as they stock the 17" trim rings. They are most likely just over $50 each as that's what I have paid for both of my 16" sets. I have been dealing with them for quite sometime now and they have always been great to deal with. Hi Dave also. Was good to catch up with at the BBQ in Lodi in April. Edited June 11, 2017 by Desotodav (see edit history)
AussieQ
Hi Desotodav, I have previously tried Antique Tyres some time back without any luck. I will try and give them a call tomorrow. I was previously told their supplier didn't have them any more. Iwill be in the USA later this year and will be attending Hershey swap. I should be able to find a set there. StillOutThere
Here you go. Check the dimension of "depth" for these as some Hirsch rings are deep for wider Packard or Cadillac big car wheels. http://www.hirschauto.com/Wheel-Trim-Rings/departments/46/

I have a 1933 Dodge Roadster with TJ Richards body. Do you have any idea how many they have produced? Someone told me that those export chassis were Plymouth chassis. Any idea if this is thru? Did they arrive in Australia as Left Hand Drive? Thanks for your answers
rocky1x
Hi, I have a UTE touring made in Australia, or what we would call a Phaeton in the US in 1933. I have had it for about 20 years but never put it on the road due to a need for an engine rebuild (slight knock in cyl 6). It came out of a museum in the Phoenix area. I would like to know more about it, think there is one in Australia and two here, don't know of any others. I am older and may have to sell it in the near future, have no idea of a price. It is about as rare as they come. Jeff at 707-829-5087 or jeffowens1x@comcast.net
