smoking engine

Recommended Posts

I have a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr with a newly overhauled engine. It runs great except that it smokes badly and the plugs get fouled with a black substance. Some say the fuel mixture is too rich. If this is the case , how do I fix it?
Jim Lawrence

Possibly 3 items for rich fuel mixtures.
1] Power valve wrong size or damaged diaphram.
2]fuel bowl float incorrectly set.
3] Check valve in in pump gallery not seating.
Bill Uhouse
juhasz@epic.net grin.gif" border="0grin.gif" border="0
