I got this in Munich from an old mechanic His family had a shop since WWI 

 

Just thought I'd share the photos with you all

 

Anyone have any information on it or it's operation ? Thank you

The backside looks just like the dash board of my International MW

 

The handle pumps pressure doesn't rotate  This was made to be wall mounted

 

Bob the only way it would wam a hot dog is if you set fire to it

Then the spark source was separate from this unit? And yes, spark testers used air pressure to see if the plugs would still spark under a simulated compression situation. A real fine crack in the porcelain will short the electrical path under compression. Dandy Dave!

Yes there were many things causing plugs to fail under compression. Many plugs were more than one piece construction . Even the glue for the center wire has gotten much better over the years
