Replacing water pump bolts with studs & nuts

Has anyone replaced the water pump hold down bolts on a 401 nailhead with studs. Read that studs are much better at holding down things like water pumps than bolts, as the clamping force is distributed through all the threads, especially in aluminium. As opposed to bolts where the clamping force is always being turned in the casting.

Was thinking of replacing just those bolts that screw into the cover only, not those that go into the block.

I am aware of the stainless steel bolt set that is available, but thinking the studs would be a better option.

any thoughts on this would be welcome.

Clamping force is irrelevant on the water pump because it doesn't take much to hold it in place so no need to over engineer here. There is no problem using studs and it would provide the advantage of not having bolt threads seize in the timing cover but that can be prevented with stainless bolts or simply using aluminum antiseize compound.
