Guest
I read the post on the 41 hubcaaps with the 47 and 48 hubcaps mentioned as being gold Lincoln script on the front wheels, no script on the rear wheels, and Lincoln Continental script on the Spare Tire.
I'm wondering which years or models have the Red on the side of the gold script, and which are all gold?
Is the differentiation between Lincoln and Lincoln Continetal hub caps?
I have a 48 LZ that has the Lincoln Gold script with red sides on all hub caps on the wheels , and gold Lincoln Continental script with red sides on my spare. Rolf
Hi, just came across some pretty definitive data on this question, confirmed the gold on the script with red sides, and plain rear hubcaps were used after May 1, 1947, hope that clears it up-
Guest
Thanks Rolf,
I noticed the script with the gold with red sides uses 4 mounting screws, while the all gold script uses 6 mounting screws.
Since I haven't seen the hubcaps for the rear with no script, I assume they have no holes for mounting the script?
