leon bee
For 51 Roadmaster. My car is a hybrid of different years, I looked through my 53 manual and didn't find anything. I guess that book is just a supplement for earlier manuals. I think I have all the other manuals on a disc, and I'm going to study all that again. So, my question: is it in the books? And also, would anybody care to give me just a thumbnail version of what's involved? When I look at the car I just see the glass, a rotted gasket, then a couple layers of stainless trim. Then there is the inside trim. No danger of this happening soon, would just like to start getting my head around it. So far, I haven't a clue how one would approach this task. As always, if anyone has any comments,THANKS!!
Ben Bruce aka First Born
Assuming the same as 1950, take off the inside trim. Then the fun starts. Nuts must be removed from inside, I think from beneath the dash in order to remove the outside stainless trim. Most enjoyable!!! Ben
leon bee
Thanks, Ben. I already figured I could expect a lot of "enjoyment" from a job like that. I'll pull off the inside trim and have a look around. What could go wrong?
leon bee
I found it all, it's right there in the 52 manual on my disc. Looks like all I'll need is penetrating oil, dremel, hammers, patience, wrenches, bandaids, valium, heatgun, some new cuss words, and a couple months to do the job. Fortunately, my headliner already fell down so I got a head start.
