rodneybeauchamp
Am having the brakes reclined with bonded linings on 63 Riviera and read somewhere they used a special lining material with the aluminium drums to give good brake performance. What do I advise my shop here in Australia to use?
68RIVGS
The drums are finned aluminum with cast iron steel inserts, so conventional brake shoes can be used without any problem, as long as the drums can be turned within acceptable limits. telriv
There are problems associated using bonded linings. Buick used RIVETED linings for a reason, mostly noise & a loss of braking performance with the newly formulated materials.
