Guest Posted January 2, 2016 Share Posted January 2, 2016 I'm doing a resto on my '38 fuel tank and I noticed remnants of black paint in places, like around the ends in the pressed creases and under the tank straps. Places that seem to have been mostly protected from the elements for years. Were the tanks painted black originally or just left in a natural, bare metal finish like later era fuel tanks?Greg Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ol swede Posted January 2, 2016 Share Posted January 2, 2016 While replacing the sending unit on my 36 Airstream I've noticed the same thing.
