motoringicons
1949 Ford Convertible. This car was restored in about 2000 from an excellent, low mileage example. It has always been cosmetically and mechanically maintained and today remains in excellent, restored condition. The car was shown at the 2010 Meadowbrook Concours d'elegance. It currently shows about 58,000 miles which are believed to be original. This car has never had any body damage or repair. The chassis, floor pans, etc are super straight and solid. The door, hood, and deck lid fit are excellent with even gaps and margins. The maroon paint is excellent throughout and shows hardly any signs of wear. The interior is like new including the seats, door panels, carpets, etc. The tan convertible top shows hardly any signs of wear. The dashboard, gauges, glass, etc are excellent. The car is completely stock with the exception of new, dual exhaust system which gives the car a great sound. The original flathead V-8 engine starts easily, idles well and propels the car down the road with ease. The car runs and drives great and is ready for any long distant drive. The engine bay and chassis are extremely clean and properly restored. The car looks good and presents well from all angles. This is a great example of one of the most iconic postwar Fords that is ready for either the road or the show field. The car is currently located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, which is less than an hour from Detroit. The price is 39,000.00 USD but will consider all offers. This price includes delivery and import to Detroit, Michigan. To make an appointment to inspect and drive the car, or for more information, please call 734-730-4274 or email: motoringicons@hotmail.com Thank you.
