Roof wood for 1930 Dictator

There are no kits for the wood in the bodies of early Studebakers. The popular cars like the Ford Model A and T have a strong enough demand for wood kits, but not the Studebaker. The only thing you can do is try to find another owner who has replaced the wood and try to get copies of pictures, if they took any, or an original car that you can examine the wood framing and take your own pictures and measurements.
You might want to take a look at the Feature Restoration page of the Antique Studebaker web site. The Feature Restoration is a 1928 1/2 GE Dictator Cabriolet. The car is a frame up restoration that included the wood of the body. There are pictures of the wood frame of the body. Other than the back of the top, this car should have the same basic wood structure as your coupe.
Here it is:
http://www.antiquestudebakerclub.com/feature_restoration.htm
Good Luck wink.gif" border="0
[ 08-19-2002: Message edited by: Mark Huston ]

Hi

I have a friend that would like to talk with you concerning repairing/re-placing the wood in the roof. He owns a cabinet / wood shop and is an excellent woodworker. You did not give you location, but He is in the Los Angeles. If interested contact me.
