Guest jerseychuck
Folks, This past summer I purchased a barn fresh 1936 Olds Business Coupe with 23,000 original miles. I have removed and cleaned the gas tank, cleaned all fuel lines, replaced all brake wheel cylinders and brake shoes, rebuilt the carb and fuel pump and am now on the road. I was hoping someone could tell me; original color of fire wall--black or the color of the car? original color of the engine? black? it seems the tappet covers were chrome or nickel? place to obtain an original voltage reg with (4) terminals instead of dropping the Ign. wire as suggested with replacement voltage reg.? Is it ok to solicit parts on this forum? Thanks for your time, Chuck
rocketraider
Perfectly fine to ask for parts and restoration advice. You need to visit the folks at Fusick and download their older Oldsmobiles catalog. www.fusick.com Is this a Six (F-36) or Eight (L-36)? Not 100% sure but I think those engines were dark green. Join the National Antique Olds Club www.antiqueolds.org . They have an advisor list and the 36 is popular in the club, so someone will have the answer, and maybe some spare parts. Steve Moskowitz
Firewall the color of the car and yes the color is a dark blue-green. Pre-mixed paint available through several sources. No chrome covers. Literature readily available through multiple sources for '36 My very first Olds was a '36 business coupe...fond memories.
