Guest 23columbia@gmail.com
hey ya all! i was directed to u guys and girls. i know some of your earlier cars had continental 6 y,s. i have one in my 22 columbia. it ran great but smoked up a storm. told the cop i was mesguito control, he said, in december? anyway rebuilt like crazy, but, can,t remember taking out a rear or front oil seal. l kept every piece and nothing in my box of tricks seems correct. in fact the block housing has a 1/2 grooved curve, but there is nothing in the cap. then i read somewhere that some real oldies did,nt have seals. the crankshaft was flared and threw the oil back in. mine is flared. anybody have a 6 y and remember? also, she runs cool. i added a thermostat, but still runs great but not hot enough according to the motometer, that is before the rebuild. perhaps now with the closer tolerance in the pistons and rings she,ll get hotter. please help. i,m having a breakdown, instead of the car. heres a pix of us in mexico. Grimy
Suggest you post this in the Continental Motors forum. Also, it might be beneficial to review some of the other threads in that forum
