Radiator hose

Recommended Posts

I have taken my hoses off my heater ,being i never use the heater in my 34 Buick. These fittings were attached to by-pass the coolant to the heater,

Is this something from the time period or just something somebody made up. I have never seen anything like this before. Thanks

in the 1920s and early 30s, this was the only way to attach a heater hose to your car. Heaters were accessories installed by the dealer and no provision was made for them on the engine. This heater may have been installed by the dealer when your car was new or as an aftermarket item by the owner. You should look for early buick accessory catalogs and compare the type of heater you have to the catalog. You will be able to tell if the dealer did it by whether or not its in the catalog.
