Hood ornament identification

More than likely aftermarket - but I have to say, it's simple smooth flowing lines gives it a beautifully graceful calming look.

Perhaps a hood ornament from a bird of pray, from the Star Trek series.

Is it even for an automobile?

The signature under the wing appears to have been made by a rotary engraver like a Dremel or a Proxxon such being weilded like a large pen.  This makes it more likely that it is a home-made figure.  That along with the odd and not terribly graceful or accurate proportions.
