PONTIAC1953 Posted October 7, 2015 Share Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) oldsmobile and pontiac shared the same rear end assembly in those years, common ratios were 3.08, 3.23, 3.42, and i think a 3.63. if you look at the carrier from the front, about the 7 o'clock position, you should see a square pad with a single number stamped on it, that number helps to identify the gear ratio.
