JPHIL
My vintage throttle cable seems to be 12" short of the carburetor link. Any way to fasten an extension to the cable without replacing the entire unit ?
Rusty_OToole
Is it broken or cut off? If not it may have been routed wrong. Can you take it out and reroute in more direct way? You don't want any kinks or sharp turns, straight or gentle curves only. You can buy a new throttle cable in any parts store. The problem is the knob won't match. I have carefully removed the inner cable and soldered the new cable into the old knob.
Guest newbymachineworks
You can buy bulk Bowden style cable with out ends. My local NAPA carries it.
