Guest bugsy1955
Hi! Hoping to get some help! I can't seem to find rocker moulding retainers for a 68 LeSabre 4 door. The moulding is 1" wide. CARS Inc thought they had them, but the retainers are 1.5" wide. Thanks!Tony
Barney Eaton
Do you have a picture of a good one?

Larry Schramm
You might try the Sloan Museum in Flint and see if they have a parts manual that could have a picture. Just a thought. http://www.sloanlongway.org/buick-gallery
NTX5467
In many cases, the GM/Buick parts books had detailed pictures of the molding clips and where they went. No width specs, though, but index numbers for each items location ... with GM part numbers for each item. Find a parts book as close to the 1968 model year as possible, though! Probably 1968 or 1969? With the GM part numbers, then you can go to the Auveco website and look for their parts which match the GM part number. I've got a Mitchell Crash Book for back then, but it's not with me at this time. It might have some GM part numbers for such retainers. IF there are little "nubs" sticking out from the rocker panel (welded-on "nubs" which the molding clips will snap onto?), then the retainers are probably plastic. Retainers will go on first, then the molding will snap on over them, I suspect. Many times, the plastic retainers like that will have a GM part number cast into them, at last many of the ones I've seen for the newer vehicles do. 60FlatTop
If the molding has a thin lip at the top and a row of small holes along the bottom it will attach like my '68 Riviera and a couple others I've had of that vintage. Mount a 2 to 3" disc or fender washer to the face of the rocker panel. You can make some. The upper edge of the circumference will receive the top molding lip. Then secure the lower edge with machine screws with a 1/4" hex head.Bernie
