This 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe was purchased by the current owners in the early 1970s. About 20 years ago, they embarked on a major restoration and today the car is in excellent condition inside and out. The body is about as straight as you will ever find. Close inspection shows no signs of neglect, damage or repair. The floor pans, trunk pan, sills, quarter panels, etc are super straight. The body has crisp lines and contours from front to rear. The door, hood and deck lid fit the body with even gaps and margins. The paint shows hardly any signs of wear or use. The vinyl top fits the body well with no bubbling or peeling. The car was completely re-upholstered with the deluxe Pony interior kit which today remains in like new condition. The dashboard is excellent and the gauges are nice and clear. All of the glass is excellent. The engine bay is clean and nicely detailed. Mechanically, the car runs and drives great. It is ready to drive anywhere. In the last couple of years, the can has had extensive mechanical servicing to include new shocks, tires, brakes, power steering, new electronic ignition, etc. The 289 V-8 engine starts easily, idles well, does not overheat, makes good oil pressure, etc. The chassis is nice and tight with excellent steering and brakes. It is a well equipped car with working factory air conditioning, Pony interior, power steering, power brakes, gauge pack, automatic transmission, etc. With the exception of the back up lights, all of the gauges, lights, horn, radio, etc operate as they should. The car retains its original VIN tag and the VIN is 6R07C215593. The mileage shown is about 73,000 which is likely to be original. The car has been driven about 4,000 miles since the restoration was completed and has always been stored in a climate controlled building where it has been consistently maintained.
