The rubber shield sits on top of the motor and below the sheetmetal filler panel behind the bumper. To install it with the bumper already on the car, you go through the opening belowthe top bumper bar that exists when you remove the license plate bracket. To clarify, the rubber lip on theshield where it is clipped sits on the front side of the lip on the sheet metal bumper valence. There is a pic from above that you can see the cover in one pic, but thats the only reference.
