JACK M
I have a set of aftermarket skirts. PM for info. They were ordered for a 37 Desoto, may be the same.
jpage
Real skirts have the chrome speed wings on them with a center nut for tightening. They look very similar to the DeSoto skirts that were offered on the forum a few weeks ago but do not have a chrome strip on the bottom. The only flare is on the rear bottom. If you need photos I have a set for my car.

Hudsy Wudsy
I don't want you to rely on my thoughts, here, but I think that '35 & '36 skirts are an inch or two taller than '37 and '38 skirts.
KLF
I've got a pair of dodge sidemount covers that I'd sell. Not sure of the year. I was going to convert my 34 conv. to sidemounts but decided not to now. I'm used to the rear spare and would miss it!!
keiser31
Those are not the correct items for 1936. They need to be the "clamshell" type that pull apart at the top. There are NO emblems on the 1936 sidemount covers.

countrytravler
Yes. The rear spare mount does have an emblem. This was the 36 at the 100 year show. That was a fine car. I have the video of the 36 4dr convertible. I have not seen it yet. I think it had side mounts.

KLF
That 36 Dodge with the rear spare has a trunk rack mounted behind the spare. I've never seen that before. Think that is factory?? Sure looks nice.Ken

Hudsy Wudsy
I've seen that red coupe with side mounts before several times. It's right hand drive with English license plates on it. It has Plymouth (and Dodge truck) wheels on it that are painted white. I don't much care for that look, but I can't help but wonder if export models came with these wheels instead of the stock Dodge wheels. keiser31
I supplied the rear mount on the maroon Dodge with the sidemounts.
Hudsy Wudsy
John, I'm guessing that we're talking about the same car, right? The one with the white Plymouth wheels? You shipped the mount overseas?I just noticed the rumble seat steps are on the right side (same as domestic models). I'm not terribly surprised by that, although it would leave passengers to mount and dismount on the traffic side. Do any of you know where the rear license plate was mounted on right hand drive models?

The car did not come with a rear mounted spare, originally. Edited December 24, 2015 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Ron Lawson
Back in them days in Western Australia the number plate could be mounted in the center or on the right side Now days they can be any where as long as they are visable
Hudsy Wudsy
I see. I realize now that, at least in the case of the long English license plate, the little bit of illumination provided by the license plate lense on the tail light wouldn't have much dictated where the plate was mounted, anyway.
