Pete Phillips
These are made of brass (underneath the plating) and are obviously for an expensive old car, but what make? I don't think it is for a Buick.Pete Phillips
trimacar
I've never seen cowl lights as an integral part of sidemount hardware, those are really interesting. Hope someone can identify.....

Restorer32
I've never seen them either. After market maybe?
trimacar
I first thought after market, but those are very specific holes to bolt to a cowl.....if I were marketing an accessory would want it to fit a lot of cars, not just one...
Restorer32
Good point. Looks like the mounts serve as a portion of the cowl band.

trimacar
I was thinking the plate went on top of the tire, which didn't make sense, see that it's on the side, which does. Mystery solved!! The voices in MY head, I won't talk about.

nzcarnerd
They might be a year later than the car in Leifs pic as they don't have the little wings on the top. Studebaker made many running changes in that era. My GE Dictator has the same radiator, lights and wire wheels with twin side mounts as that car but has the earlier body . I don't have the correct cowl lamps for it though I did find a pair without the extension to the spare wheel. I wonder if there is an illustrated Master Parts book somewhere which would help.
