epriv
Hi, What are your recommendations for weather stripping suppliers for 2nd generation Rivs?. I like to patronize CARS, but if anyone has other suggestions, I'd like to know. Also, apart from the obvious use of adhesive for the trunk, is it necessary to use adhesive for any other areas like the doors or roof rails? Thanks,Mitch
68RIVGS
My weather stripping came from Cars quite a while back, and the fit and quality was excellent, with a minimum of fit 'n fiddle to install it.I used some adhesive for the front roof rail portion, and just the upper ends of the door seals. The plastic retainers on the repro door seal matched exactly as the original. I also used some strip calking behind the metal portions of the roof rail retainers, and A pillars as they had been removed for a colour change repaint.

NC1968Riviera
Resurrecting this thread to ask if Second Gen door window tracks can be adjusted to increase the pressure of the glass where it meets the weather stripping? The Aqua Zephyr's previous owner, who did all of the body work, replaced the door weather stripping but water leaks between the rubber and glass when I wash the car. Any information from those in the know would be appreciated. And NO, I have not checked this out in my Fisher Body manual yet.

Just don’t totally remove any bolts to save you a headache. Hopefully yours are not maxed to full height. You could also change the angle to where the top of the glass can pitch inward by adding washers to bottom track bolts. This would be last but I had success with another late GM model this way. 1
68RIVGS
Mr. Paul has spoken, and he is quite correct - double check your GM Body Manual for additional info Mike !
