USPS slipping?

In shipping parts lately the USPS seems to me making more errors but this one was worth posting about as it is so bizarre and funny.

I sent a fellow in TX two rubber hangers for his Reatta muffler.

What he received in my box was a black Fredricks of Hollywood XL bra.

In talking to him he said he doesn't want it as he is 84 years old and not his size :)

When he received the small Priority Mail box it was smashed on one end and taped. I did not tape it when I sent it.

What must have happened was the PO must have damaged several boxes and the simply put whatever they wanted into any damaged box and sent it out. His local PO said it is his to keep.

I did send him two more hangers but am wondering what the person who order the bra got and if it was my muffler hangers, what are they going to do with them?

Right about now, someone is holding those two rubber hangers and thinking "these are some rather strange pasties". And that Frederick's of Hollywood bra probably has more holes in it than the rear quarters of a Reatta that spent 25 years in Milwaukee.

I suppose one could use the bra to cinch up the exhaust in lieu of the rubber hangers.

at his age, he should remove the tags, wad it up a bit and place it in the glove box. when he has another ol' buddy in the car, ask him for something (sunglasses?) from the glove box. when the other guy pulls out the bra, a good smirk and a "oh, ha ha ha" response is all that's needed. ;):PB)

Brenda, MacGuyver would take the exhaust off the car, bend it into a triangle and then make a hang glider out of it and the bra and bypass vehicular traffic entirely.

In keeping with the theme, my brother and I jokingly referred to the last iteration of the Ford Escort as the bra-strap Escort because of the tail lamp design.

  • 2 weeks later...

Last Sunday (one week ago today) I ordered an item on-line from California.  I paid $6.00 for USPS Priority Mail shipping.  It hit my mailbox in Flint, MI on Wednesday.

Frankly, I think that's pretty darned good service, but I must admit I was mildly shocked.
