No reputable inspector or appraisers will give you a price or a value on one of the most reproduced and faked body styles that can be for that year and make of car. I would urge extreme caution on any Stutz boat tail. And yes, I have purchased one in the past. Do your homework, and FLY an expert out to look at the car. Consider it a fake until it is proven real beyond any doubt! Use CAUTION! Good luck, Ed.

Ed is correct. There are several copied Boattail Stutz's, however as we all know they aren't made any more and although the value is less, owning one, al be it done correctly is ok and acceptable. Junk is out of the question, b ut some have done a wonderful job of keeping to the faith and pureness. If you want one, just make sure,-- if it is a fake, that it is priced accordingly and has all the right stuff. Rick

Check the serial number of the car. Every fake boat tail Stutz that I have seen had a serial number that was definitely from a different body style. The 1927 Stutz boat tail for sale recently by a well-known sales organization showed a serial number that would have been found on a long wheelbase (145") seven passenger limousine.
