motoringicons
This 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible was restored about 25 to 30 years ago. The restortation has held up well. The car has been actively used and well maintained since the restoration was completed. Today, it is a nice and clean example that really has a good look to it. The body appears to be extremely straight and solid. The only evidence of repair that we have found is on the right rear fender where there are some signs of lead work. The period correct maroon paint looks good but shows the typical signs of wear and touch ups hear and there. The chrome and stainless trim items are clean and the car still retains its Ford script glass. The tan convertible top shows the usual signs of aging but is in good servicable condition. The upholstery is extremely clean and well done. The dashboard has the proper wood graining and the gauges are clean with clear faces. Mechanically, the car is a pleasure to drive. The flathead V-8 engine starts easily, idles well, runs cool and propels the car down the road nicely. The transmission shifts up and down well and the clutch is smooth. The brakes stop the car straight and the steering is properly responsive. Recently, the car has been rewired and new tires have been fitted. The wipers, horn, heater, dashlights, etc work as they should and the power top works well too. While not a show car, this car still presents extremely well inside and out. It will certainly stand out at any local car show and really goes down the road nicely. We have priced the car at an extremely reasonable 24,000.00 firm. I don't suspect it will last long at that price. It is located near Jefferson, WI.
