Wogden
A friend of mine has an Olds standard tranny that has a busted tail housing. It is an early '50-56 Olds/Pont unit and carries the casting number of 1343940-1. The other number that will be the same dimension would be a -2 suffix unit. These units are 8 5/16 inches long with the speedo drive hole center being 3/4 inch from the front face of the housing. PM me if you can help or have any idea where we can pick one of these up.Pic attached is representative of the issue with the early tail housings. The support ring for the rear shaft bearing breaks off after years of use and thrust from the bearing. The unit on the left is gone completely while the unit on the right has some remaining.
