Burg Dynometer

Recommended Posts

Does anyone out there have information on a device known as the Burg Dynometer? Researching this instrument that was found on a 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900SSC.

The one we have is printed on the dial face in Italian. No other mfr. markings except "Burg Dynometer", but we have no operational information or mfr's name, etc.

This hung on a gimbel type attachment, to the dashboard, with no electrical or "plumbing" connections at all.

Thanks in advance!

Is it like this?Burg%2BDynometer%2B2%2BWeb.jpg

It looks like an accelerometer. Positive = foot on accelerator pedal. Negative = braking. Maybe something for rapid cornering too?

There are a number of Italian and German language web sites mentioning it. This picture came from here: http://alfa1900csszagato.blogspot.co.nz/

The pendulum logo reminds me of the simple accelaration indicator we made at school. From memory (40+ years ago) it moves in the direction of acceleration.
