motoringicons Posted July 31, 2015 Share Posted July 31, 2015 (edited) To begin with, you'll of course need a different intake manifold like the one pictured below to adapt the Stromberg carburetor to the Model B © engine block. (If you haven't found a manifold yet, I may be able to supply one like the photo attached). Since the engine has a mechanical fuel pump, you can use that pump to feed the new downdraft carburetor. Since you are allowing more gas into the cylinders, they should have a better way of exiting as well. Most people that convert to downdraft carburetors also fabricate or buy a header assembly instead of using the stock Ford manifold.I would recommend using a Stromberg 97 carburetor. They were not originally supplied with adjustable jets, however, the vendors now make an adjustable jet for this carburetor which will better allow you to get the carburetor adjusted to your engine.
