FrankWest107
I have an air clean with some shallow dents/dimples in it. How would you recommend getting these dents out?Should I really try to hammer them out with the aid of an anvil. or just patch and smooth with JB weld and then paint. Would JB weld withstand the operating temps of an air cleaner??
Beltfed
Body men use a special flat faced hammer and dolly. The dolly should match the contour of the work piece. I would start 'dolly on' at the ends of your dents. You may have to use a pick hammer on the dimples depending on how deep. For sure JB weld will hold up to the heat. I would try a light coating of body filler. Have you ever touched a panel of your car that has been in the sun all day at the show event.Good luck. 95Cardinal
If you're not comfortable using a hammer and dolly, you could take the part to a local "Paintless Dent Removal" place.
