statusman2010
What is this part mounted below the Brake fluid reservoir and oil filter, on a 1929 Chrysler. I am restoring one, and it came as box's of bits, and I don't know what to do with my bit that looks like this. What does it connect to ? The part I refer to is a horizontally mounted rectangular square section , which has a rod coming out of it. In the attached picture it is mounted below the brake fluid reservoir, on the fire wall, and the rod that comes out of it disappears in the photo behind the engine. hwellens
It is a spring to help steady the motor. Attaches to the head bolt. Edited June 28, 2015 by hwellens (see edit history)
28 Chrysler
It is hard to see but the rod attaches to the rear left stud of the head. This is used to keep the engine from moving very far under heavy torque.
