Guest Chuck Conrad Posted October 9, 2000 Posted October 9, 2000 Trippe Lights are a common (and very desirable) accessory found on many Full Classics as well as on many "ordinary" cars of the Classic Era. They were usually a dealer added option. People liked their striking good looks. Of course, they also helped you see at night. In the 1930's, highways weren't as well marked as they are now and driving after dark was quite an andvnture. A good set of Trippe Lights really helped.<P>For what it's worth, Trippe is still in business, making lights for emergency vehicles, as well as doing rather well in the computer industry. They are a major manufacturer of the "Uninteruptable Power Supplies" (UPS) that many of us purchase when we get tired of our computers crashing due to power problems.
